BTEA MEMBERS HEAR FOREST CITY RATNER ATLANTIC YARDS PRESENTATION

Over 50 contractors and association representatives heard Forest City Ratner representatives unveil their plans for a 32 story modular resident building at a “members only” seminar held on January 24. 

Forest City Ratner Executive Vice President for Commercial and Residential Development Maryanne Gilmartin, Executive Vice President for Construction Bob Sanna and the President of XSite Modular, Amy Marks outlined their plans for this groundbreaking residential structure.  The 32 story tower would be the tallest modular building in the world. 

The Forest City team explained to the BTEA audience the design, construction and financial issues associated with the 32 story structure which is to be built at the Atlantic Yards site adjacent to the Barclays Arena which is currently under construction.  BTEA members engaged in a Q & A session with the Forest City representatives following the formal presentation.

HEALTHCARE SEMINAR TO BE HELD IN FEBRUARY

FMI President Hank Harris details construction market trends

As part of its seminar series, the BTEA recently hosted a seminar on national and New York City construction market trends.  The presentation was led by Hank Harris, President & CEO of FMI .  Mr. Harris  was joined by panelists Charles Avolio of Turner Construction, Peter Cafiero of Island Painting, and Anthony Mann of E-J Electric Installation Co. and Joseph Leo of Atlantic Contracting & Specialties.

The 2012 BTEA Seminar Series will continue with a presentation entitled “Healthcare Construction-Best Practices from New York’s Leading Healthcare Institutions”.  This seminar will take place on Tuesday, February 28 at 8:30 a.m. at the First American Title Insurance Co. located at 633 Third Avenue (between 40th and 41st Streets) in Manhattan.
