James Abadie

James Abadie is the Principal-in-Charge of the New York office of Bovis Lend Lease LMB, Inc. He oversees all aspects of the business, which includes executive direction of all construction operations and growth strategies. Mr. Abadie joined New York-based Bovis Lend Lease in 1980 and has held numerous supervisory positions throughout his career. His expertise was utilized for the development of complex logistics, field management and the administration of effective field labor relations programs on the firm’s most unique and challenging assignments.
Mr. Abadie worked weeks and months following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Putting his personal life on hold, he made his way downtown and played an instrumental role in transforming the chaos of Ground Zero into an orderly work site. Eventually, his willingness to make hard decisions contributed to his emergence as the point man for the entire operation.
Mr. Abadie is a graduate of the State University of New York’s (SUNY’s) College of Environmental Science and Forestry (conferred by Syracuse University) where he earned a degree in Construction Engineering and also holds an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Civil Technology from SUNY @ Farmingdale. He is Chairman of the Contractor’s Association of Greater New York (CAGNY) and Co-Chairman of the Building Trades Employers’ Association (BTEA).
