Robert Peckar, Esq.
General Counsel
Peckar & Abramson, P.C.

Bob Peckar has been one of New York’s leading construction lawyers for more than three decades. Having been raised the son of a New York general contractor, construction has been in Bob’s blood from his youth. Thus, upon graduation from Columbia Law School it was little wonder that he chose construction law for his career. Since then he became a recognized leader of the construction bar in New York and the nation. He is a founding partner of Peckar & Abramson PC, now the largest construction law firm in the country with more than one hundred lawyers serving the industry in ten U.S. cities as well as internationally. He is the General Counsel of the BTEA and the General Counsel Emeritus of the New York Building Congress. Additionally he is the national General Counsel of the Construction Financial Management Association and Legal Chairman of the Construction Management Association of America.

Having spent the first half of his career litigating complex construction cases, he has since concentrated his efforts in guiding the Firm’s clients to the resolution of difficult project disputes through the formulation of creative solutions, including the use of ADR processes. Bob is one of the nation’s leading advocates in the use of ADR and serves as an arbitrator in complex international arbitrations. He is the author of many published materials on construction law issues and a frequent presenter at industry events throughout the country. Bob has been recognized by Chambers USA, The Legal 500, Super Lawyers and other rating organizations as a top construction lawyer in the region and country. In 2006 and 2007 he was named by the Who’s Who Legal, the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers as the leading construction lawyer in the world. Bob is a Fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers.
