Please solicit your participation in a “workforce development” survey that is being commissioned by the Building Trades Employers’ Association (BTEA) of New York City.

This survey focuses especially on labor supply and demand issues, recruiting techniques and training needs. This survey will be used to update a report released by the BTEA five years ago on the issue of Workforce Development entitled Building a “New” New York.

We have retained FMI Corporation to assist us in conducting the study on an independent third party basis. For simplicity, you may respond to the survey by accessing a special web site at http://www.keysurvey.com/survey/199406/aa9f/.

Your responses will be sent directly to FMI and remain confidential. The general results of this survey will be released to the members of the BTEA by the end of June, 2008. I ask that you take a few moments to complete this important survey. It should not take more than about 15 minutes. We would appreciate your response to this questionnaire no later than May 8, 2008 in order to ensure the timely compilation of data and subsequent release of the survey’s results.
