CCNY - NYC Union Construction Industry Internship Pipeline
Building stronger connections between New York’s union construction industry and the next generation of construction professionals.
Developed in partnership by The City College of New York, the Building Trades Employers’ Association, and New York’s leading union construction associations, the pipeline is bringing employers and students together to help strengthen the industry’s future workforce.
The Initiative
New York’s union construction industry continues to face increasing demand for skilled project managers, engineers, estimators, superintendents, safety professionals, and operations staff. At the same time, talented students are looking for meaningful opportunities to gain industry experience and begin their careers. The CCNY - NYC Union Construction Industry Internship Pipeline was created to strengthen those connections.
Rather than developing a one-size-fits-all internship model, this initiative is being built collaboratively with employers. Through ongoing conversations with participating firms, CCNY and its industry partners are working to better understand workforce needs and identify meaningful ways to connect employers with qualified students.
