Honoring 2021 Leaders in Construction Safety

With Special Interest in COVID-19 Efforts

Building Trades Employers’’ Association’s (BTEA) Construction Safety Committee is pleased to announce we are accepting nominations for SafeBuild’s Safety Awards ceremony recognizing the outstanding performance of BTEA members in construction safety.

Submissions will be reviewed and selected by members of BTEA’s Construction Safety Committee to be honored at this year’s virtual safety conference, being held on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

2021 Safety Awards Criteria

ELIGIBILITY

  • Candidates must be BTEA members.
  • Projects must be located in New York City Metropolitan Area.
  • Projects must have been completed or ongoing during the 2020 calendar year.
  • A firm may ONLY submit up to two entries per category.

AWARD CATEGORIES

COVID RELIEF SERVICE AWARD
Awarded to a firm that played a significant role in New York’s COVID-19 relief efforts and/or demonstrated a commitment to aid front line workers and communities deeply impacted by the virus.

SAFETY INNOVATION
A new idea, technology or method that has enhanced safety on a project(s).

BEST PRACTICES & SAFETY CULTURE
Implementation of new company practices or programs that improved overall company safety standards.

PROJECT SAFETY
A project that has had excellent safety performance. Residential, commercial, institutional and public works.

HARDHAT SAFETY AWARD
Awarded to a union construction worker who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in safety.

OUTSTANDING SAFETY COMMITTEE MEMBER
A member of the Construction Safety Committee who has demonstrated outstanding participation and dedication.
